Diana

Guide

Curiosity, a passion for hiking, and my work in the humanitarian aid sector have taken me to live in India and West Africa, and to hike on every continent except Antarctica. Perhaps it is this life lived elsewhere that has made me understand just how dear and special the wild, dune-fringed beaches of Western Estonia are, along with our windswept small islands, the silence of our forests, and the rolling winter hills of Haanja.

I love sharing these places, our way of life, and our inner world with visitors from near and far, and I am deeply grateful whenever people choose to come here, to Estonia. To my mind, guides are a kind of cultural ambassador, showing why Estonia is precious and worth preserving and protecting.

My great loves are snowy winters and the Arctic regions. I enjoy teaching beginners to ski, and on dusky winter evenings I knit the occasional especially beautiful sweater.

Others about Diana:

“Spending a day with Diana has a way of sticking with people. Her warmth, her deep knowledge of Estonian history and nature, and her care for the little details, like a thoughtfully packed picnic or a story tied to a landscape, turn a day trip into something richer. She can truly bring Estonia closer to foreign people!”
