Helen

Guide

I work as a guide at Prangli Travel and, outside of that, as a freelance nature tour leader. I came into this role after working in the field of communications, so I feel right at home here. For me, the connection between guiding and my previous work is strong—I enjoy “translating” nature, history, or a new environment into an engaging story for curious eyes and minds. I also love that I get to see people’s reactions immediately—in their eyes and smiles. That instant feedback, along with my curiosity for new places, people, and knowledge, keeps me learning and motivated every day.

Others about Helen:

“Helen never loses her spark or cheerful spirit. She handles herself wonderfully both at sea and in the forest. She can lift the spirits of any group, in any weather. She’s full of fascinating stories—and her sense of humor is spot on. That’s why you’ll often see her zipping around Prangli with corporate groups. If she weren’t called Helen, we’d probably name her ‘Jack of all trades’—because she truly is. Helen is an art historian by education and also trained as a nature guide at Luua Forestry School.”

“Helen radiates joy and energy—it’s like she makes the sun shine on a rainy day. Even after a stormy boat ride, she knows how to breathe new life into the group and lead the day with laughter and lightness.”

“She’s the kind of person who leaves a lasting impression—spend just 10 minutes with her and it’s impossible not to be positively affected. For her age, she’s gathered a remarkable amount of life wisdom, and she shares it generously. Better get your abs ready before meeting her—she’s always ready with a good joke!”

“One of the hardest tasks would be trying to count all the projects Helen currently has on her plate. Or to write down all the new ideas she thinks up in a day—or even in an hour or a minute. No suggestion is ever too crazy or impossible for her. And when it comes to humor—she’s got plenty. In fact, she’s got a real gift for it.”
